Maintenance Of Wakefulness Test

Daytime study

This daytime sleep study measures your ability to stay awake and alert. The test is usually done immediately after an overnight study. You will be asked to sit in a chair and try to remain awake during a series of four 40 minutes observation periods taken at two-hour
intervals. This test is used to evaluate the inability to stay awake in commercial drivers and heavy equipment operators as well as evaluate responses to treatment in Narcolepsy and Obstructive Sleep Apnea.
